About Marty McNair

Marty McNair is a thought leader, motivational speaker, advocate, and author of Can My Child Play? The Questions We Should Have Asked and The 5th Quarter: A Parent’s Guide to Preparing Student-Athletes for Life Beyond the Game. As the founder of The Jordan McNair Foundation, he has become one of the nation’s leading voices on student-athlete safety, parental advocacy, and life beyond sports.

Following the tragic loss of his son, Jordan, to a preventable heat-related injury during collegiate athletics, Marty turned his pain into purpose. Through his foundation, books, and powerful speaking engagements, he educates parents, coaches, and student-athletes on the importance of player safety, mental health awareness, and self-advocacy.

Marty’s work has been featured on Good Morning America, CNN, ESPN, SportsCenter, and HBO’s Real Sports, and he continues to push for systemic change in athlete safety and education.
